I went to blog the other day and realized that I had forgotten to re-upgrade my custom CSS (it expires after a year) and all of my pretty custom work that Heather did was gone. So I decided to upgrade and start over again. I chose a new theme and set about creating a work of art for myself. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 🙂 It’s fun to reinvent your space as you’re reinventing yourself. This is a regular occurrence for me.
Hanging directly above my desk is my “inspiration board” where I post encouraging words from friends, pictures of things that make me smile, quotes that remind me who I am, and goals that I think are worthy pursuits. When I step into my office, my eyes travel there first. As I was adding to it today, I stopped to read each piece of paper and look at each picture. These reminders are treasures to me. They are gifts I give to myself on this journey of becoming. They are small tokens of beauty that I get to experience each day. Do you have an inspiration board? Or something else to remind you that you are loved and that you have a purpose? What are some of the touches of beauty in your life?
Very feminine and Jane Austinish. I love it!

I love, love the new look you’ve created for yourself, Niki. What a restful place to visit!
I don’t have an “inspiration board”, but you can bet that’s going to be on my list of things to incorporate into my life soon. A great idea that I plan to borrow from an inspired friend. Thanks so much for sharing the idea.
I can’t even begin to list all the touches of beauty God allows me to experience, but the first that comes to mind is a dark, stormy sky that breaks free to release a rainbow — God’s visible promise set in the sky for us.
Have a blessed day, dear Niki.

I have the smiles that come from the niecephews. I am blessed when I can capture them on film (digital or old fashioned) and keep them to look at again.
I like reading about your journey. It inspires me to try harder, gives me hope that I can accomplish good things with God’s help.

I never had a place for an inspiration board before… now that I do, I think I need to have one. Thanks, friend.

I have an “inspiration” board in several rooms in my house. one is a “love notes” board where we post notes to each other that are kind little loving messages (all of us, not just me and the hubs). My corkboard in the kitchen is another place where encouraging words collect.
I need one at work, though….hmmmm….
Like the new look, too 🙂
