An organizer. A planner. A detail person. With a Capital J. Though I try to be flexible when unforeseen circumstances change my plans, deep down my feathers are ruffled and I feel unsettled. I do not fly by the seat of my pants though occasionally I give it a try. We have been working our bums off this week to get ready for a yard sale this weekend. I believe our clutter – though mostly organized – is weighing us down. We have been sorting, digging out closets and drawers, and throwing away like crazy people. Our patio slightly resembles tornado aftermath, and the kids are starting to get worried about the mumbling, glazed over eyes, hair disheveled, focused woman that I have become. After almost a week of rest I have become this cleaning machine, intent on reducing our stuff by half. It won’t happen by this weekend, but it will happen. Now the yard sale won’t be happening this weekend either. Why??? 7 inches of snow…so far. Two days ago it was in the mid-60’s and I was wearing shorts. I didn’t see this coming. Then again, I don’t watch the weather. That’s Benny’s job.
About the J thing. Tawnya posted back on February 24th about the Meyers Briggs personality traits test. It was very interesting. I am an ENFJ. She is an INFP. I’m the extrovert, she is the introvert. I am a J. She is a P. We are both NF’s. Maybe that’s why we’re so close. I think we have the same heart but we approach life differently due to our different personalities. We tease about our differences, yet take care to make the other feel comfortable. That is love. When you love someone, that’s what you do for them. I encourage you to check out her post and the links there. It’s interesting stuff!
While the kids played in the snow and enjoyed the change in plans, I inwardly moped. Yeah, I need to get over myself. I guess I could look at the bright side of things. I haven’t planted anything that will now die due to the freezing conditions. I didn’t pay for a newspaper ad to tell the world about the sale so I’m not out any money ā yeah Craig’s List. I now have more time to prepare, price, make signs, etc. for next weekend. AND I can finish watching season 2 of Grey’s Anatomy this weekend. I wonder how much snow we’re in for?
Benny blogged today…Check it out at www.sevensonline.blogspot.com.
I just don’t know, Niki, if you can be a true J if you don’t watch the weather 3 days ahead! Anyway, as much as I tease, I do think you should embrace your J-ness. It’s what makes you the well-oiled super mom machine that you are. I’m sure when I become a mother, I’ll start tuning into that J side that I so often subdue now.
On a serious note, I got my netflix and am seriously bummed that they weren’t Grey’s anatomy. Just 2 chick flicks. And I was all ready to continue the saga ;-(

I watch the weather about every other week – the 7 day forecast. That means I never know what the weather is, even every other week, because they are never right. š

Thanks for sharing. I just took the test, and am an INFJ. Apparently only about 1% of the population can claim to be this crazy! Anyway, it was fun and pretty much right on. I do have to say that I am much like you in the weather update , but they are NEVER right here either. I just go online and look at the 15 day forecast and laugh!

My wife Trina is a J (INTJ actually), and I am a ENFP (so close to you there Niki! But so far away. š )
There is a huge difference between Js and Ps. I still there staring a a bookshelf at Borders and just STARE trying to decide which book I will buy and read…this could last up to several hours/days if I weren’t being pulled along by Trina who made her decision a long time ago. š
But we’ve been made for each other, and we’re growing together more and more. It’s absolutely amazing to see God doing what he said he would do – “the two become one”. Not 50% people, but two 100% people, becoming one. I love it!
Miss you guys. Keep writing, and keep Benny writing too!!! (AND SEE THE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie!!!!)

MARK! You read my blog??? Cool! I would have guessed you were an INFP. I’m trying to write more. As for Benny writing…does the phrase “pulling teeth” mean anything to you? š Benny took Max to see TMNT on opening day. They loved it. I’m guessing you did too. (Big Surprise!) lol

SO glad you pointed out Tawnya’s post again! I had read it in February, but didn’t go take the test. I had a few minutes to spend today, so I just took it. I am an ISFJ. The I and J didn’t surprise me a bit, and I’ll have to do some more reading about the S and F. š I think Tawyna’s right, when you become a mother, and as you put it, CEO of a household consisting of more than one person, your J attributes will come more to the forefront. These things are always very interesting to me. I wonder if I can get Joe to take it…. š

I planted the primrose I bought me when I bought one for you. But considering the primrose I planted a few years ago bloomed ALL winter despite mounds of snow, I’m not too worried about it. LOL
Hope your garage sale works out tomorrow.
