I’ve enjoyed reviewing books on my blog for authors I haven’t met, so I’m happy to be able to promote someone I actually know. Meet Jeni Tetamore. Jeni is a local artist, homeschooling mother of five, volunteer in her church and community, and a newly published author. Her first children’s book, The Crooked Tree, was published this month. In this tale we meet a tree that teaches us to learn to be comfortable with who we are, wherever we happen to be. It’s a short story that is beautifully illustrated by Jeni’s mother-in-law Alice, an artist and illustrator who makes her home in Oregon.
Jeni has other projects in the works right now with her next book due out in March. Her second book, And The Rain Came Down, is based on the song “The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock”, which she laughingly told me was her daughter’s fault.
I am happy to introduce you to this new friend and I wish her much success. If you live in the Denver area, you can meet Jeni Tetamore at one of her book signings/readings. She has two in Arvada this week.
Saturday, December 1st, 1-3 p.m. at Heart and Home Bookstore.
Monday, December 3rd, 5 p.m. at the Grand Opening of Baby Boutique in Old Town Arvada.
The Crooked Tree is available for purchase through Amazon.com and Jeni’s website. BUT, I’m pleased to announce that one lucky reader of this blog will win an autographed copy. If you’re interested in entering the drawing, leave me a comment here or send me an email. On Friday morning, December 7th, we’ll draw a name and announce the winner. The only requirement will be to send me your address for shipping purposes if you win. Good luck!
*Join me back here on Monday for more discussion on the book, The Golden Compass, which I finally finished reading.
I’d love to win a children’s book! Sign me up!

I seem to find myself spending more and more time reading recently, thanks to an old friend! JD loves to read and anything I can do to keep him at it…even better when the books are free! đŸ™‚

I collect children’s books to read to my grandchildren (6 and one more on the way) and would love to add this one to my collections to read to them. When I buy books I have to buy 4 of the same book at a time so each family has one and I have one.
