Thank you so much for the prayers, comments left here, emails and phone calls. I am on the road to recovery. I went to see Dr. Zack Monday morning. Think me crazy, but after lots of adjusting I quickly began to improve. I had been taking a homeopathic flu med all weekend, plus Tylenol Sore Throat – which didn’t seem to help much. My back and neck were really out of whack. It was no surprise that he recommended lots of rest this week. We stopped at The Vitamin Cottage on the way home and Benny got me some Lavender bath stuff and a treat – a REAL SIMPLE magazine. If you’ve never read one – you must! This is one of my favorite mags and it’s a mystery why I don’t subscribe to it yet. Guess what I’ll be asking Santa for this year? 😉 Back to my story…when we arrived home, my wonderfully amazing husband got the bathtub ready for me and ordered me off to relax with my new read. I spent the next hour soaking in the warmth and smell, thoughts and ideas to try when I’m healthy again, and the quiet time alone in the bathroom. When you have three young children, even bathroom time isn’t spent alone – unless you remember to lock the door – and my brain doesn’t compute that function. If I am ever your houseguest – kindly remind me! 😉
While I was absorbing all those minerals into my body, the water absorbed the last of my energy. I spent the rest of the day in bed watching movies and savoring my magazine. By bedtime I had no fever and no sore throat! YEAH! This morning I woke up feeling much better though not yet normal. The swelling in my neck is almost completely gone and I was able to move at normal speed again. I took it easy most of the morning and then had a few hours of stupidity this afternoon. I did way too much and now I’m wiped out again. Supper is in the oven and Benny should be home soon. I’ll be spending the rest of the evening in bed or on the couch. Some days the whole Supermom thing goes to my head. Will I ever learn?
My biggest thank you goes to the man who said he’d love me in sickness and in health – I know which one he prefers! 🙂 He brought me a pretty constant flow of hot tea, chicken soup broth, and water. He checked on me and encouraged me to rest. He kept the vaporizer filled. You already heard about the bath. He fed the kids, played with them, and most importantly kept them out of our bedroom so I could rest alone and quietly and so they wouldn’t get sick too. I love that man!
Benny – you are my hero!!! THANK YOU!!!
That’s sweet. What a man. Way to go Benny!
Jen and I have been praying for your health. I am glad to hear you are better. I hope Benny and the kids get spared.
Lots going on, I’ll have to contact you soon.
