This may be sort of underhanded, but I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. My husband is a busy man, I know, but I miss him blogging. He was off to such a good start, then I don’t know what happened. He teases me and thinks I blog too much, so maybe this is his way of balancing it out?? 😉
He said that nobody was reading his blog anyway. He has great insights on life and how to live and do ministry from the heart. I want him to blog again. Maybe if you help me encourage him a little…Check out his blog and leave him a comment. Thanks!
In my very brief time as a member of the blogging community, I have discovered something that might apply to this situation. Very often, the emotional strain of frontline ministry makes it difficult for me to focus on the writing process. Example: I attended the funeral of a member of my church family over a week ago. It was gut-wrenching. I’ve been trying to process my responses to it and write about it for several days, but so many things just seem to get in the way that I can’t get it done.
What does this have to do with Benny’s blog? Well, if my sense of what the Dry Bones ministry is all about is close to accurate, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that your Benny is dealing with similar emotionally draining situations, perhaps even daily. Writing about what he is doing may just take more energy than he has to spare.
Here’s an idea for you to mull over: What if you started another blog entitled “Conversations with Benny”? The two of you could talk about what is going on with the ministry; and, then, you could write about it (writing seems to be one of you areas of giftedness); and, then, Benny could comment on what you have written. This would accomplish two important things: (1) it would keep the two of you connected; and (2) it would get the Dry Bones story told.
What do you think?

From what little I know… Benny has never suffered with the inability to communicate… I hope he continues blogging…

You could be right, though I think it’s more of a not knowing what to write about situation. One of my concerns is that is one of the main ways our supporters get updates…and they are infrequent.
Us being connected isn’t the problem…and we discuss DB stuff all the time. He has a unique way of getting the DB story told. I just wish he’d do it more often on his blog.
When he checked his email this morning and saw my post he rolled his eyes at me and said, “ha ha very funny”. I told him I’m convinced the only reason he reads MY blog is because it’s emailed directly to him! He said that’s not true…

Please forgive my overzealous response to your post. Sure didn’t mean to suggest that you and Benny aren’t connected. It seemed like a “bright idea” last night. Tonight, it just seems a bit presumptuous. I’ve spent a few minutes on the DB web site. I am really impressed with this ministry and would like to know more about it!
