It’s mine. This afternoon I got my first tattoo. Yes it’s real. Yes it hurt. Yes I love it. It will look even better once the swelling goes down and the color evens out. I love the design. To me it represents a lot of things about my faith. The chain is made of prayer beads which remind me of my constant communication with God. The cross is my reminder of the sacrifice made for me. Having a chain around my ankle reminds me who I belong to. It’s on my left foot which is the side of the body(sort of) that my heart is on. You can’t tell by these dark pictures, but there is blue in the beads and the cross. Blue is a color of royalty, and I’m a daughter of THE KING. If you’re going to get a tattoo, why wouldn’t you want it to be somewhere people are going to see it so you have the chance to explain what it means to you?
LOVE IT!
I still can’t believe it…haha, when Angi called me she asked me where I thought ya’ll were and I said a concert…little did I know?! ๐

Niki, how cool!! I really like it. i’m like natalie, i don’t think i would have believed it, but it’s really nice. I’m glad it means something too. it’ll be another great tool to minister to the street kids (you might have to wear your flip-flops to shakespear’s ๐ )

i’m way too much much of a needle-phobe, pain-phobe, and commitment-phobe for a tattoo. but i love it when other people venture out and have an awesome story to accompany it. very cool!

I am afraid this is where our similarities diverge, kindred spirit friend. The ink on my skin will have to continue coming from my stamping and scrapbooking. I could do birthing without meds, but point a needle at my skin and I begin to get woozy. We tease that we live in the area where everyone and their grandma has a tattoo, but I have never seen one with such a beautiful story attached. Kudos to you, Niki!

Your kids will always think, “Man, I have the coolest mom.”
I bet that took forever to do. Glad it was you and not me.
Great story.
