We watched The Justice League Unlimited with Max lastnight. What a show! Good guys joining together to defeat the bad guys. (Isn’t that always the plot?) There was Wonder Woman, The Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, and many others. I’m a sucker for a good story about good vs. evil whether it’s in animation or not. One of the characters asked, “What are you supposed to do when you have the weight of the world on your shoulders?”, and another one said, “Plant your feet!” That’s good stuff.
I know I could take this and make a spiritual lesson about how we don’t have to plant our feet because we have a God to cast our burdens upon, but I’m not going to. I think sometimes you just have to see things for their face value. These heroes were saving the world. They were concerned what it would mean for evil to triumph. Life as they knew it would be doomed, not just for them, but for their loved ones and even those who were indifferent to their help. They “planted their feet” because SOMEONE had to. They risked themselves (as they do in every episode) to save others. THAT is true heroism. Do you know any heroes? I know I do! 🙂
Niki, thanks for the comment and for checking out our blog! I have seen you on Kent’s blog, as well as Jettybetty’s. Isn’t it amazing who you can connect with via the blogging world?
We have lived in Denver for about two years and LOVE it! It is a wonderful change coming from Texas and my husband, who is from Seattle, feels it is a much better alternative to Abilene. We feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful place.
How are things with Dry Bones? I have heard that it is such a wonderful ministry.
I can’t believe Kent went sky diving! I admire his braveness but it isn’t something you will ever catch me doing! I am glad he made it through safely.
Hope you have a blessed day! I will check back often, and I totally agree with the princess entry–I love pink and loved the piece Nicole Johnson did on princesses. We are princesses! Now I think I will go read Captivating…sounds wonderful!

Hi Niki,
I’m Teddy, Adam’s mom, and I just visited your site out of curiosity. (He’s mentioned ya’ll a lot and I’ve heard such good things about Dry Bones!) Anyway, I loved the “Plant Your Feet” illustration and want to use that in the ladies’ class I’m getting ready to start. But I have to admit I’m so out of things, kid-wise, I wasn’t sure: Is JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED a tv show? (You can reply to me at rtalabc@bellsouth.net)
Thanks and God bless!
